The Rec room which we rented for two days was dirty, we cleaned that and covered the tables and cleaned the cobwebs out of the windows, someone took out two tables while we were there because they needed them. We were able to get one back.
Over all our Reunion was a success because we were all together but next reunion we are headed to Table rock. We had around 70 people at this Resort. I can only speak for myself but I know there were those not happy too. The owners could care less if you had a good stay as long as they got thier money
Location and access to the lake is great. Cabins are good sizes and comfortable. Beds are a little hard and breakfast could be better but overall it's a good time. My family has been coming every year for 4 or 5 years. Make sure you get your cabin reserved early as they fill up fast.
We have stayed here many times and have always been pleased...not so this time...we rented cabin 13 we had 9 people, they charged us for 12...they charged us 40.00 extra for cleaning charges before we even checked in...when I asked why they informed me it was because rates went up and that was to compensate for that...the cabin was FILTHY. I had to clean the tables, the dishes, the stove, the counter tops. I had them come back and sweep because we had no broom. She cleaned up quite a big dust pan full. The dust pan was on the front porch...the place was never mopped. They argued with me over everything..I guess they are use to living in dirt...I am not.
***BEDBUGS!!!!*** horrible case in Cabin 9. Also, place full of dead bugs from one end to the other. Coffee pot has mold in it. Window next to door would shut, but not lock, floors had weak spots, the sheets had not been changed on the bed in the back bedroom... where the bed bugs lived. The loft bed had dead bugs ON the bed and a large mass of dead bugs at the window sill near where you lay your head. The "gorgeous view" from the front window was blocked by a dead tree that had fallen so you only saw the view from the door. The lake is gorgeous, THAT Cabin? Hideous. The answer to our complaints? "You are welcome to leave and we will refund your money." We left.
I Love this place. The cabins are clean and contain most everything you need. The grounds are well maintained. They used to have a wonderful dock around the outside of their boat slips. I'm guessing they had a bad storm because that dock is now pulled up against the shoreline. I really wish they would rebuild it. It made for a sheltered spot to swim and sun yourself.
I fell on the lower level deck and twisted my ankle and got a bruise because a nail was protruding on the step...they didn't even take down a accident report.
I had the pleasure of staying in this resort and it was FABULOUS!! The grounds are beautiful, cabin is comfy with a fully stocked kitchen and plentiful amenities, the setting is serene, the breakfast was homemade and delicious, and the staff is SERIOUSLY amazing. I highly recommend Lee's to anyone looking to visit Grand Lake and wanting a comfy place to land at a reasonable rate. I will DEFINITELY be back soon!
